How to Make Southern Pie Crust

— Ingredients —

butter
1 cup 225 g butter
(unsalted)
sugar
1/4 cup 50 g sugar
flour
2 cups 256 g flour
salt
1/2 tsp 11.38 g salt
water
3-6 tbsp 44-89 ml water
(cold)

— Instructions —

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Gradually add this mixture to the butter and sugar.
  4. Add water until the entire mixture becomes doughy. Do not overhandle.
  5. Split dough into two equal-sized balls. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
