How to Make Cornmeal Onion Johnnycakes

— Ingredients —

cornmeal
1/2 cup cornmeal
onion
3 tbsp onion
(finely chopped)
salt
1/4 tsp salt
water
1/4 cup water
oil
oil

— Instructions —

  1. Heat a frying pan with oil.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients.
  3. Drop mixture by the tablespoon into hot oil.
  4. Flip to ensure they fully cook on both sides. Drain on paper towels if desired.
  5. Serve hot, with tea.
