Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer (about 5 minutes).
Use immediately. Store additional sauce in the refrigerator. The sauce will solidify, but you can heat it up very slightly (only a few seconds in the microwave) and drizzle over ice cream to accompany the pie.
