This is an adaptation of the recipe included in The Dragonlover's Guide to Pern. I made slight modifications to match the description, including the optional warming liquor (rum). The flavor is rich and dark, and perfect for brisk mornings.

How to Make Klah

— Ingredients —

chocolate
2 tablespoons chocolate
(sweet, ground)
cocoa
1/2 cup cocoa
(dark)
cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
instant coffee
1 teaspoon instant coffee
(dark hazelnut)
nutmeg
1 pinch nutmeg
cream
cream
(optional)
vanilla
vanilla
(optional)
sugar
sugar
(optional)
rum
splash of rum
(optional)

— Instructions —

  1. Mix all dry ingredients, except sugar.
  2. Use 2-4 teaspoons of the mixture per cup of boiling water.
  3. Stir well and add remaining ingredients as desired. The mixture should thicken like cocoa. Serve hot!
