Chef's Note

I have fond memories of making homemade popsicles as a kid. When I saw Zootopia, I knew I needed a trip down memory lane. You can make these by getting clever with yogurt and soda containers, but paw print popsicle molds will save you time and effort. Plus, then you've got paw print molds!

You can make your own juice instead of buying it, too. Just boil and mash 2 cups of red fruit (like raspberries or strawberries), strain out the juice, and sweeten as desired with sugar or honey. The old Nick Wilde probably wouldn't make 'em this way, but I have a feeling Judy's convinced him by now to try everything.

Recipe

Making the Pawpsicles

You will need:

  • Cranberry juice (or other red juice like raspberry, strawberry lemonade, etc.)
  • Popsicle or cookie sticks
  • Paw print molds

Instructions:

  1. Pour juice into paw print molds.
  2. Place in freezer and allow to set somewhat (about 1 hour).
  3. Insert a popsicle stick in each paw print mold. The stick should be parallel with the ground and slightly under the frozen top layer of juice.
  4. Freeze until solid (about 4 hours).
